I’ve now become concerned (obsessed) by the local weather and am checking the long range forecast at least once a day.

There’s a fairly good chance that it will be around 24 degrees centigrade (75 fahrenheit) when we set off, but could well find snow at the top – if we get there.

The Giant of Provence isn’t part of a mountain range, so its slopes don’t receive any shelter from the wind – it’s currently gusting at 30mph! A tailwind would be a massive benefit, but a headwind will blow us to a standstill.
